Annelies Bokma, Creative Europe Communications

I have been working at the Creative Europe Desk NL since 2008. Back then, it was still called the MEDIA Desk. In 2013 we merged with DutchCulture, although that was still called Sica at the time. Going from a small, three-man organisation focused on the AV sector to one consisting of more than thirty art and culture-loving people certainly changed things! It meant a lot more coordination in many areas, a very big lunch table, more co-workers to spar, chat and laugh with, more meetings, more fun work outings, more co-workers to learn from, more training and strategy sessions, and so on.

Along with the challenges of the Creative Europe programme, many of these aspects are reasons why I continue to enjoy my job in the communication department. The Creative Europe Desk’s newsletters are all written by yours truly, and the team and I work hard to update the website every day – all to keep the cultural and audio-visual sector in the Netherlands informed about the possibilities that the programme and European cultural policy have to offer.
