Beste Sevindik, Intern TransArtists

I am a classically trained violinist, researcher, and student of Japanese studies at Leiden University. Currently, I am doing an internship at TransArtists and my tasks involve updating the TransArtists Air database for Japan as well as researching the cultural exchange between the Netherlands and Japan through artist-in-residence programmes, and the cultural impact of these residencies.

I studied violin at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in Turkey and completed my Master's degree at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen as laureate of the Klaas Dijkstra Stipendium. As a chamber and orchestra musician, I performed in Turkey, Germany, France, Belgium, Norway, Iceland, and throughout the Netherlands. In addition to my work on stage, I work as a researcher in projects that explore the role of musicians in society, such as the Meaningful Music in Healthcare (MiMiC) project.
