Eva Banning, Producer

My name is Eva, and I graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts as a producer in 2020. I embarked on this education programme with the unshakeable belief that art can change the world for the better and that space for the imagination can make society a nicer place. But as the years pass, this sometimes appears to be a bit of an illusion, when the world turns out to be a less pleasant place and difficult to shape and steer. Art is always subject to a changing world, and it is precisely this dynamic that makes our work challenging and inspiring.  

My own everyday life can be quite chaotic. That’s why, in my work, I Iike to create clarity. My job at DutchCulture is to create an overview for and with my colleagues and to find ways to help artists connect with each other.  

Besides my work as a producer at DutchCulture, I work as a creative producer at the theatre group BOG. I am also the coordinator of a workgroup on diversity and inclusiveness at Amsterdam’s Academy for Theatre and Dance, where I engage students in a quest for a more inclusive arts sector.
