Geke Dijkstra, Communication

After my internship in editing & communication at DutchCulture, I temporarily worked as management assistant before moving on to the position of communication team member in May 2020. My job focuses on social media: I coordinate schedules, manage statistics and am responsible for the continued development of our Instagram activities. Drawing attention to DutchCulture’s varied programmes and news announcements via social media is a fun challenge. I also coordinate the slider on our home page and drafted the 2019 annual accounts with my colleague Simon.

My academic background is in Liberal Arts & Sciences at University College Utrecht, with majors in History and Art History. After that, I completed a Master’s Degree in Heritage and Memory Studies (UvA). In 2018, I interned at the cultural department of the Dutch Consulate General in New York for half a year. It was an educational experience that reinforced my passion for international cultural collaboration. My other passion is Italy, where I spent some time to learn the language and for a university exchange programme.
