Michiel van der Padt, Mobility Info Point

I have been working at DutchCulture since 2018, at the Mobility Info Point, where artists and professionals can ask questions about financing and the laws and regulations they need to deal with when developing international activities. This includes finding subsidies for international exchanges, or applying for the right visas and permits to live and work abroad, or the correct procedure for reclaiming foreign withholding taxes.

I also write articles for the magazine about mobility – for example, international opportunities during the corona crisis. I am an active member of the international network On The Move and work together with partner organisations in the Netherlands to identify administrative bottlenecks in international cultural collaboration.

I studied religious sciences, play the trumpet in the Dutch-language band Astronaut and write for Crème, a biweekly culture newsletter in Amsterdam.

Many people’s first contact with DutchCulture is through me. So if you’re looking to start working internationally, but are unsure about all the things you need to know, don’t hesitate to send me an email!

Suppose we were able to share meanings freely without a compulsive urge to impose our view or conform to those of others and without distortion and self-deception. Would this not constitute a real revolution in culture?
