Renske Ebbers, Germany | Belgium
I help museum curators, jazz musicians, game designers and all other creative professionals to connect with peers and audiences abroad. Artists looking for unexpected opportunities in Belgium or hoping to win over cultural hearts in Germany can rely on my support. Favourite aspects of my job are: organising events where ambitious culture geeks can learn from the experience of international know-it-alls, saving international visitors from Amsterdam bike lanes, and rethinking strategies for a work field that never stops evolving.
With my background in Theatre and Performance Studies, I have always been surrounded by people who create stories. Looking after a wide range of creative partners in our DutchCulture network and amplifying their stories is what I (like to) do best.
Before landing in our mint-green Herengracht offices, I worked on funky theatre projects in Germany as a teacher and producer, most extensively with theatre company Das Letzte Kleinod and their Oceanblue train. I still combine the policy level work with my own practice involving site-specific, spoken word and community-based ventures. Starting 2020, I am also enrolled in the Master Creative Producing at DAS Graduate School.
