Yasemin Bagci, advisor Egypt | Turkey

I was trained as an archaeologist, art historian and artist, respectively in the Netherlands, Turkey and France. I have a PhD in archaeology from Leiden University with a focus on Islamic archaeology, an MA in Cultural Heritage Management/Museum Studies from Koc University, and a BA in Fine Arts from France.

I work at DutchCulture as an advisor for cultural cooperation with Turkey and Egypt. I greatly value transnational collaboration and teamwork. In my job, I very much enjoy meeting people involved in art and culture from the Netherlands, Turkey and Egypt and connecting them with each other, so that they can create strong projects that allow multiple voices to be heard.

I have experience with fundraising for art exhibitions such as the Manifesta Biennial and the Van Gogh Museum, with conducting object-oriented, thematic research for museums such as the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and the Tropenmuseum, and in academic translation between French-English and English-Turkish, for example for the ANAMED research centre of Koc University. I also work as a freelance researcher for art and archaeology projects.
