Victor Enthoven

Victor Enthoven is historian and he received his Ph.D from Leiden University in 1996. He specialized in overseas expansion history, especially the Atlantic World. In 2004 he co-edited in conjunction with Johannes Postma the edited volume Riches from Atlantic Commerce: Dutch Transatlantic Trade and Shipping, 1585-1817. At presented he is affiliated with the Free University of Amsterdam and he is a senior researches for the NWO-project 'Dutch Atlantic Connections, 1680-1800'. This project focuses on the circulation of goods, people and ideas in the Dutch Atlantic World. For this project Enthoven writes a monograph on the Atlantic connections of the port cities Amsterdam, Middelburg and Rotterdam.
