Janne de Kock, Intern communication

As a freshly graduated art and culture scholar, I really landed on my feet with my internship in communication at DutchCulture: it is the perfect opportunity to gain experience in an organisation that focuses on themes that I care deeply about. I write articles for the website, publish them on our social media channels, and help devise our communication strategy.

I have always been a lover of art, but during my art history studies, the focus of that love and curiosity increasingly converged on the intersection of art and audience. Working at DutchCulture gives me a front-row seat from which to see that intersection and cultural exchange being acted out on the international stage.

For me, the unique circumstances that we are presently experiencing once again show how much hope people can take from art, and how resilient our cultural creators are. New collective initiatives are sprouting all around us, and I strive to summarise all these wonderful examples for you, our readers, in the article series Art in Times of Corona.
