DutchCulture | International (Buitengaats): forthcoming changes and call for information
Since 1999, DutchCulture gathers information on the international activities of Dutch artists and cultural organisations in the Buitengaats (Offshore) database. For the contents of Buitengaats, DutchCulture gratefully makes use of information that we receive through a network of informants.
A new database for Buitengaats
In January, DutchCulture is launching a newly revised, all-inclusive website. The old websites, including sica.nl will dissappear. The Buitengaats database will move to dutchculture.nl and is also being revised. Besides needed technical improvements, we are above all concentrating on making the database and online presentation more user-friendly for visitors to our website and also, of course for (online) our informants.
The transition from the 'old' to the new Buitengaats will take place between 13 and 15 January 2015. This week, existing informants are receiving a letter with further details. Are you based in the Netherlands and organising cultural activities abroad, but not yet an informant? Then we invite you to contact our editor Rosell Heijmen. She can tell you exactly what kind of information we are looking for and how to bring it with us.
Call for information activities in 2014
Based on Buitengaats, DutchCulture publishes an analysis of the Dutch cultural presence abroad each year in the spring. Your information about the activities in which you have been involved as a maker, curator, conductor, director, lender, organizer, partner, funder, etc. is indispensable in this regard. Our current informants are receiving a call this week to check their data and make any additions or changes.
Are you based in the Netherlands (or at a Dutch embassy) and did you implement or support any cultural activities abroad in 2014 that have not yet been reported to us? Please contact our editor Rosell Heijmen. She can assist you with supplying the information.
