Prison Gate Museum

Museum de Gevangenpoort is part of Stichting Haags Historisch Museum. De Gevangenpoort is a medieval jail complex and has a collection of punishment, torture and police equipment from the Middle ages to the 19th century. De Gevangenpoort presents itself as an exciting museum where the visitors can go through an authentic experience, and to make people think about crime and punishment, criminal law and the Dutch constitutional state. The regular collection can be viewed with tours. Apart from that the museum organises activities that make a connection with the judicial system.
