With more than 2,000 students and 15 professors, the history department is one of the largest historical teaching and research institutions in the north. Its special feature is that, in addition to depicting a great epochal spectrum from ancient history to contemporary history, it has also developed regional focal points in historical research in countries including Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, Latin America and the USA.
