Six Chinese curators visited Dutch art scene

Invited by Mondriaan Fund, from 25 till 29 November six well-known curators from China Feng Boyi, Wang Huangsheng, Biljana Ciric, Zheng Yan, Deng Yeming and Carol Yinghua Lu visited the Netherlands with a tight schedule, meeting with prominent art institutions and museums across the country.

On Tuesday 26 November afternoon, DutchCulture joined force with Mondriaan Fund to co-organize a public talk event at Cobra Museum, Amstelveen. The visiting curators introduced their own practices in the contemporary art field in China, followed by open discussion with the audience.

With great honor, DutchCulture also co-organized the morning program on Friday 29 November. The curators were led by a privileged guide tour in Van Gogh Museum, followed with joined presentations given by the managers of the museum as well as leaders from Reindwardt Academy on the topics of museum management and collection care. Afterwards the curators shared their opinions and experinces from the contemporary Chinese context. Both Dutch and Chinese art professionals thus obtained a great chance not only to exchage ideas with each other, but also to explore together future opportunities of cooperation.

The last day visiting program was ended with a lovely dinner at the office of DutchCulture, where its Trans Artists Desk also introduced to the Chinese curators their artist-in-residence network and tailor made workshops.
