Two days left to apply for BJDW 2014

26 September - 3 October: BEIJING DESIGN WEEK 2014 - APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW - submission deadline extended till 20 July

First launched with a pilot effort in 2009, it has quickly become the leading international platform for design in China. A new BJDW (2011) debuted as a citywide showcase, catalyst and laboratory for raising public design awareness, while helping to develop a stronger design infrastructure and discourse in Beijing and China.

BJDW is an initiative of the Ministry of Education of the PRC, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC, the Ministry of Culture of the PRC, and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. It is undertaken by Beijing Gehua Cultural Development Group and Beijing Industrial Design Center.

Design HOP is one of the most dynamic sections of Beijing Design Week, activating key areas of the Chinese capital with a variety of projects and events, including exhibitions, installations, pop-ups, workshops, seminars and lectures.

Design HOP core areas include: Dashilar, 798 Art Zone and 751 D·Park, Caochangdi Art Village and as of 2014, a brand new partner zone with Taikoo Li Sanlitun!

Participation is also possible via a brand new format - The Plug In Stations - small specially made mini pavilions that call for smaller-scale design showcases or interactive interventions or even participation by means of graphic poster submissions.

Participating in Beijing Design Week is generally free of charge depending on the chosen location. Alternately it is also possible to become a sponsor or associated brand with the option for a longer term partnership.
