Creative Industries Fund NL: Open Call Residency Videotage 2027

The Creative Industries Fund is one of the 6 national cultural funds. It provides grants that contribute to promoting high-quality standards, development, and professionalisation of the contemporary creative industry in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie offers one residency position at Videotage in Hong Kong in spring 2027. The residency supports crossovers and experimentation and gives participants the opportunity to conduct research, broaden their creative practice, expand their professional network and develop and present new work. The 2027 edition focuses on blackbox technology and invites the resident to explore this concept in the context of Videotage. The residency considers how technologies such as machine learning increasingly shape social domains while their internal workings can remain difficult to understand or inspect. Participants are encouraged to develop critical perspectives through personal observations of these technologies and their consequences. Videotage provides accommodation, workspace, equipment, access to its media-art archive and curatorial and practical support. The residency concludes with a presentation of the developed or developing work to Videotage's local network.
