Judith van der Kooij, advisor Mobility Info Point
Since 2022, Judith has been working for DutchCulture, starting at the Creative Europe Desk NL and currently serving as an advisor for the Mobility Info Point. In this role, she supports artists and cultural professionals with the administrative aspects of cross-border mobility, including mobility funding, visas, work permits, social insurance, and taxes.
Judith graduated with an MA in General Cultural Sciences and a BA in French Language and Culture from the University of Amsterdam, specializing in postcolonial theories and the internationalisation of African contemporary art. Her short documentary Visions Contemporaines: Afrikaanse kunstenaars aan het woord about a contemporary art exhibition at the National Museum of Mali, won the student prize of the Dick Scherpenzeel Award for international journalism.
Before joining DutchCulture, Judith worked for many years as a communication advisor for several film festivals, theatres, and organisations in the Dutch cultural sector such as Bijlmer Parktheater, Frascati, Cinema Arabe, BackBone and Boekmanstichting.
In addition to her daily work, Judith serves on the board of two cultural organisations: the Thami Mnyele Foundation, an artist-in-residence program for artists from Africa and the African diaspora, and Operatie Periscoop, a foundation for community building and social placemaking in Amsterdam.
