Democracy Foundation: Democracy Residency ‘European Dream

Funded residency in Latvia

The Democracy Foundation in Kuldīga, Latvia, invites applications for the international Democracy Residency ‘European Dream’, organised as part of the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme.

The residency brings together six participants from different European countries and professional backgrounds to explore new ways of experiencing and practising democracy.

During the three-week residency, participants will develop interactive activities for the Kuldīga Democracy Festival, taking place on 20–21 August 2027. These may include workshops, performances, games, participatory experiments or other creative formats that encourage public engagement.

The programme emphasises interdisciplinary collaboration, experimentation and exchange with local communities. Participants may work individually or collaboratively.
