Funding for galleries, art fairs or art book publishers participating in major art fairs abroad

The Mondriaan Fund is one of the 6 national cultural funds, and supports and promotes the visual arts and cultural heritage in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

With International Art Fair for galleries or art book publishers, participating in major art fairs outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the fund aims to strengthen the international standing of contemporary visual arts from the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, and help them to become better known and appreciated.

Organisations
  1. Galleries, both Dutch and non-Dutch, taking part in art fairs outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands, presenting living visual artists from the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom;
  2. Non-Dutch art fairs of international importance located outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands, spotlighting living Dutch visual artists;
  3. Publishers participating in an art fair or art book fair outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands, presenting a publication about contemporary visual arts in the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

For galleries:

  • Stand rental to participate in an art fair with visual arts from the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (depending on the percentage of exhibited works by visual artists from the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom);
  • Costs for special presentations in a separate section at an art fair dedicated to Dutch visual artists (transport of the work, insuring the work, travel and accommodation expenses for the involved artist(s), production of new work).

For non Dutch art fairs:

  • Costs for special presentations in a separate section at an art fair dedicated to Dutch visual artists;(transport of the work, insuring the work, travel and accommodation expenses for the involved artist(s), production of new work).

For publishers:

  • Cost of participating in art book fairs with publications about contemporary visual arts in the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, including stand rental and travel and transport expenses.
How much

For galleries:

  • A maximum of € 10,000 for the art fair participation;
  • Total costs for special presentations in a separate section at an art fair dedicated to Dutch visual artists; if new work is created: 50% of the production cost.

For non Dutch art fairs:

  • Total costs for special presentations in a separate section at an art fair dedicated to Dutch visual artists; if new work is created: 50% of the production cost.

For publishers:

  • a maximum of € 3,000 for the art fair participation.

At least 6 weeks (for fairs on the established list of art fairs) or 3 months (other fairs) before the fair. .
