Funding for cultural exchange between Frisian and international contacts

The province of Fryslân (Friesland) offers subsidy for International contacts. The programme supports exchanges and cultural activities organised between young Frisian speakers and European minority language communities.

Frisian speakers active in the cultural sector. Applications can be submitted by, for example, secondary schools, vocational and higher education institutions, young theatre makers, writers, journalists, filmmakers, poets, and musicians.

  • Travel expenses for students, teachers, musicians, poets, writers, and theatre makers;
  • Accommodation expenses in the relevant language region;
  • Costs for organising cultural activities focusing on the Frisian language as one of Europe’s minority languages.
How much
  • Travel expenses: up to a maximum of €450 per person, with a maximum of €4,500 per application;
  • Accomodation: up to a maximum of €80 per person per night, for a maximum of four nights per person, with a maximum of €2,800 per application;
  • Cultural activities: up to a maximum of €1,500 per application.
Requirements
  • eHerkenning 2+ (for foundations, associations, and cooperatives);
  • Project plan (maximum 40 MB), including an explanation of:
    • the international activity to be organised;
    • the purpose of organising the activity;
    • the activity schedule;
    • the number of participants, including how many are under the age of 30;
  • Budget and funding plan;
  • Authorisation form (only if you are submitting an application on someone else’s behalf);
  • If applying on behalf of someone else: documents demonstrating who is authorised to sign, such as a Chamber of Commerce extract and, where applicable, the organisation’s articles of association.
