Stroom Den Haag: PRO Art Program
Stroom Den Haag is the expertise centre for art, society and the public domain. Together with contemporary artists, Stroom explores the culture of coexistence, examines future-oriented perspectives on society and stimulates the public imagination.
The PRO Art Program aims to increase the visibility of artists from The Hague abroad and to promote interaction between international artists and The Hague.
- Organisations that carry out the proprosed programme on a non-profit basis, such as artist initiatives, artist-in-residence organisations, artist collectives and artists’ associations.
- Independent curators and organisers.
- Artists living in The Hague, provided they are registered in the Stroom artists’ database and have an up-to-date profile. Other applicants must submit a CV.
Programmes in the field of contemporary art.
- International exchange activities.
- Programmes for guest studios and artist residencies.
An art programme is a series of related activities, such as exhibitions, presentations, lectures and workshops, that have an artistic, substantive, thematic and/or formal connection and take place within a specific period.
- Stroom contributes a maximum of €10,000;
- Applications for more than €5,000 require cofinancing of at least 30% of the total financial plan;
- Stroom awards a maximum of €20,000 per calendar year per applicant, guest organisation or guest location;
- Funding is only awarded if there is a demonstrable financial shortfall.

Not eligible:
- Applications within the context of (art) educational programmes.
- Proposals from or with (art academy) students.
- Courses and workshops with an educational character.
- Applicants cannot claim the PRO and SPOT funding schemes while following an (art) educational programme (Bachelor's, Master's, postdoc, PhD).
- Applications for post-academic work periods/residencies (such as at the Rijksakademie, De Ateliers, the Jan van Eyck Academie, and the EKWC) fall outside the framework of the funding scheme system.
