The Supporting Act Foundation: Impact Grant

Funding to help nonprofit organizations that provide non-financial support to emerging artists from underrepresented groups

The Supporting Act Foundation is a self-governing non-profit created to foster diversity and build better opportunities for underrepresented groups in the arts. They support emerging artists and arts-focused nonprofits, giving them the space and resources to develop their work and drive positive change in their communities.

The Impact Grant aims to provide arts-focused nonprofit organizations the stability and headspace to grow and keep helping emerging artists from underrepresented groups. The Supporting Act Foundation supports organizations whose approach is aligned with their own desired impact: improving living conditions for artists, enabling them to dedicate more time to developing their practices, increasing the visibility of their work, and boosting their self-confidence.

Nonprofit organizations that provide non-financial support to emerging artists from underrepresented groups or those facing systematic barriers to opportunities in the creative and cultural industries.

There are no restrictions on how organizations choose to spend the grant, though the funds are intended to help cover core costs such as salaries or any other costs considered critical to successfully developing the organization’s work.

How much

Each grant provides €50.000, awarded over a two-year period. Ten unrestricted grants are available.

Requirements

Additionally organizations must:

  • Have registered as a nonprofit organization between 2016 and 2024 in Belgium, Germany, Greece, France, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain or the United Kingdom.
    Note: organizations registered as a nonprofit entity in other countries can also apply if they can provide a letter of intent from a fiscal host that is registered as a nonprofit in one of the countries mentioned above.
  • Be able to provide a bank account number with IBAN in the name of the organization or of a fiscal host in one of the countries listed above.
  • Have a total annual expenditure between €50,000 - €300,000 (or the equivalent in local currency) in the current fiscal year.
  • Be able to share publicly available evidence of active projects that provide non-financial support to emerging artists from underrepresented groups or those facing systematic barriers to opportunities in the creative and cultural industries where your organization operates.
