The Society for the Preservation of Hudson Valley Vernacular Architecture (HVVA) is a not-for-profit society. It has been granted a provisional charter by New York State Department of Education with a mandate to document and preserve the Hudson Valley's regional architectural heritage. To fulfill this mission HVVA works in cooperation with both private and public owners of historic properties. HVVA organizes monthly study tours throughout the region and survey and record vernacular structures, making this information available through its newsletter, website, archives and public presentations.
