Open Call: ArtsLink Back Apartment Residency St.Petersburg
The ArtsLink Back Apartment Residency programme provides opportunities for international artists and curators to conduct research, create new work, collaborate with the local arts community, and create special projects in St. Petersburg, Russia. Each month-long residency is individually designed to enable visiting artists and curators to learn about the Russian arts community, develop their own work, and share their work and culture with local audiences. During their residency, artists and curators are expected to participate in at least one public programme.
The ArtsLink Back Apartment invites artists and curators interested in learning about contemporary art in Russia and building relationships with the local arts community. Preference will be given to artists and curators working in the fields of socially engaged art and public art. However, artists working in other fields are also welcome to apply.
Interested artists and curators can apply by completing the online application form. Applications will be accepted until December 30, 2015 for residencies between 1 May and 31 December 2016. The duration of the residency for artists is 1 month; curators are invited to apply for shorter visits of 7-10 days.
Artists from other countries are welcome to apply, but need to seek financial support to cover travel, per diem, and studio rental/materials. CEC ArtsLink will provide free housing for selected artists. Artists based in Russia are not eligible to apply for this program. CEC ArtsLink currently has funding to support residencies by artists and curators from the United States.
