Dutch Days in Wuhan
2014 Will be a very special year for the relationship between The Netherlands and Wuhan. After the success of the Dutch Days in Shanghai, a new tradition is born. Wuhan is now the second city where the Dutch Days are being held, providing various cultural activities throughout the whole city.
The Dutch Days will be a string of cultural events in the month of April, traditionally the month in which millions of visitors from all over the world come to the Netherlands to see one of its most famous features, the tulip. Below is a short description of the cultural events during the Dutch Days in Wuhan.
Design
The Dutch Days will present a Dutch Design Exhibition where several Dutch Companies that are concerned with design in a broad sense will exhibit their products and projects. The exhibition will go hand in hand with workshops and lectures about the design field. The exhibition runs from April 5 until April 26 at the Hubei Institute for Fine Arts.

Music
The famous Dutch jazz drummer Rob Verdurmen will come to perform, give workshops and show his dazzling skills and bring Dutch music culture to Wuhan. DJ is a DJ who performs electronic music. DJ Marcus B will be providing a new musical experience that will leave a deep impression. Both musicians will perform in VOX Live House in Wuhan during the Dutch Days. Besides this, famous Dutch conductor, Lute Brommer, will perform during the Dutch Days as well.

Art
When Arcadis in the past designed the Holland Park in Wuhan, they organized an event whereby they painted the ‘cubicles’ situated in the park. After several years, it is time to paint them again. Together with Arcadis, local artists will repaint the cubicles, also adding extra art objects to the park.

Horticulture
Every spring, Wuhan Botanical Gardens organize a tulip exhibition. This year, tulips will be imported from the Netherlands and exhibited as part of the Dutch Days in Wuhan. Besides a tulip exhibition, there will be many more activities in Wuhan Botanical Gardens like a Miffy themed park and business stands.

Sports
The opening ceremony of the Tulip Exhibition in the Wuhan Botanical Gardens will be celebrated by a great cycling tour. Those who are interested in joining can sign up for this Orange Cycle Tour around the East Lake. Also, a soccer match will be organized whereby a Dutch team will play against a Chinese team. Finally, famous Dutch-Chinese badminton player Yao Jie will organize a badminton event.
