Culture Talk: Indonesian delegation on Unesco World Heritage sites

On Wednesday 19 September a governmental delegation from Indonesia will discuss the challenges on World Heritage nomination processes.

The Indonesian Tentative List counts four impressive heritage sites with a Dutch connection. The aim is to nominate them as UNESCO World Heritage sites. During this Culture Talk the visiting Indonesian officials will discuss the many pleasant and sometimes difficult challenges they face in the nomination process. Also the proceedings in preparing the nomination files for the legendary and vibrant city of Semarang will be presented.

Currently eleven Indonesian governmental officials are visiting the Netherlands to exchange experiences regarding World Heritage nominations, management and development. During their one-week programme on the invitation of the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands they meet with a number of knowledgeable institutes and experts. During this Culture Talk they hope to expand their network.
