International visitor: Marcos André Carvalho (BRA)

Marcos André Carvalho is special adviser for Creative Economy at the Culture Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro State and the director of incubator Rio Criativo, the first incubator for the creative industries in the Rio department.

Mr. Carvalho is in the Netherlands to explore the Dutch creative industries, for exchange of best practices in the field of creative incubators and to identify stakeholders for possible partnerships.

He is especially interested in the conditions in which creative incubators and fablabs thrive, grow and contribute to the local social climate. We are looking forward to introduce him to people and organizations who proved instrumental in creating successful incubators like A-Lab, Vechtclub XL, and creative districts like Strijp-S and the policy makers and advisors at local and national level creating the right circumstances for creative industries.
