The USA ranks number 1 on the Netherlands' cultural export list. Do you know what kind of visa you need when travelling to the USA as an artist? What is the difference between a showcase and a paid for performance? For the last two years, with the support of the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts, nonprofit organization Tamizdat -founded by artist mobility expert Matthew Covey- has been conducting a study of the U.S. artist visa process. The product of that research is now available as a draft white paper on artist mobility to the United States.

Tamizdat's white paper is currently being circulated to organizations that have shown interest in the project and will be offered to the European Commission. During his visitor's talk on Wednesday June 21st Matthew Covey will update the Dutch cultural sector on the latest visa procedures.
