ZinaSalon: Rania Atef

Second edition of ZinaSalon: Egyptian artist Rania Atef is visiting the Netherlands and will discuss art and motherhood in Egypt.
Date(s)

DutchCulture and Zina proudly present the second edition of the ZinaSalon.

In early 2019, the Egyptian artist Rania Atef held an exhibition in the Netherlands in light of the art project Too much here and barely there by Dutch artist Annabel Kanaar. Currently, Rania Atef is exploring the theme of motherhood in her work. Her art does not only reflect upon what it means to be a mother in the personal sphere but also on the way in which Egyptian society treats mothers.

During this ZinaSalon, Rania Atef will present her work. Myriam Sahraoui, advisor Morocco at DutchCulture and co-founder of Zina will interview her. The discussion will touch upon this project specifically and the arts in Egypt more broadly. Rania will elaborate on why she is drawn to the subject of motherhood and how her approach has been received so far.
