The "Europe for Citizens" funding programme for the period 2014-2020 is officially adopted

In early May, the European Commission will publish the first calls of the new programme. With these calls and their associated guidelines, municipalities and civil society organisations in Europe will be able to start preparing applications for support for their projects.
The first deadline for submission of applications for town twinning projects, networks of twinned towns and remembrance projects is provisionally set for 4 June 2014, the second deadline for submission of applications for town twinning projects, networks of twinned towns and civil society projects is provisionally set for 1 September 2014.

Europe for Citizens (2014-2020) is the follow-up to the original programme of the same name which expired at the end of 2013. The programme focuses on supporting European cooperation of municipalities and civil society organisations. Key aspects of this programme are to promote discussion, reflection and cooperation in the field of remembrance, European integration and history. A strong emphasis is also placed on encouraging participation in the (European) democratic process .

In all participating countries, national information points provide information about the new programme and advice on grant applications. The Dutch Europe for Citizens Point (ECP) is part of DutchCulture.
