10 projects selected for support for the NL-KR joint art fund programme

Ten projects were chosen that well exemplify the dynamics and diversity of cultural cooperation between the Netherlands and South Korea.

The ongoing partnership between DutchCulture and Arts Council Korea aims to stimulate new contacts between Dutch and Korean artists and institutions. In the framework of the co-initiated Netherlands – South Korea joint art fund programme (2021-2022), in June we published an open call in the Netherlands for collaborative art projects around the future-oriented themes of Innovation and/or Inclusivity.

Based on the concept, feasibility and Dutch-Korean partnership, 10 projects are now selected to receive a research & development grant from the joint fund, ranging from 2,500 to 6,000 euro each.

Enlisted below in a random order, these 10 projects cover a broad spectrum of (multi-)disciplines from visual arts, performing arts to architecture and cultural heritage. They well exemplify the dynamics and diversity of cultural cooperation between the Netherlands and South Korea.

The selection was made by DutchCulture together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Seoul, South Korea, and in consultation with Dutch Performing Arts and Arts Council Korea.

The selected projects will embark on their research and development from September 2021 until the latest June 2022, with guidance provided from Valentijn Byvanck, director of Marres, House for Contemporary Culture, the Dutch institution that will collaborate with this joint art fund program. We are pleased to welcome and look forward to the results of these new collaborations between artists and cultural institutions from the Netherlands and South Korea.
