TransCultural Exchange 2022 International Conference

TransCultural Exchange’s 2022 International Conference on Opportunities in the Arts: Create the Future

Since its grassroots inception in 1989, the artist collective TransCultural Exchange has worked directly with hundreds of artists, arts organisations, foundations, galleries, museums, and cultural centers in 60 countries to produce over 350 art projects. All of these have involved artists from different cultures, working across disciplines and, typically, include artist exchanges and collaborations as key components. They also provide professional development resources, new markets, and career opportunities for artists worldwide through their social media, Resource web portal, talks and International Conferences on Opportunities in the Arts. In addition to serving artists, the Conferences also facilitate new partnerships and exchanges between international organisations and educational institutions, leading to increased visibility, cultural understanding and economic activity.

Once again Boston becomes the nexus of the international art community with TransCultural Exchange’s Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts: Create the Future. From November 4-6, 2022, artists (of all disciplines and career levels), residency directors, curators, collectors, arts administrators and critics will converge in the city to attend programs focused on opportunities for artists everywhere.

The Conference is internationally known as the only forum of its kind for networking, showcasing, supporting and promoting artists. More than 150 representatives from around the world will be on hand to present their programs, which support the needs of practising artists today. As their surveys show, for many young artists, this Conference is the link between academia and real-world art practice; for more established artists it’s an essential forum for meeting their international peers and learning about the vast number of opportunities for their work around the world.

The 2022 Conference will include workshops, panels, roundtable discussions, networking events, off-site activities, screenings, talks, tours, expanded portfolio review/mentoring sessions and an exhibitors’ hall (showcasing the latest products, additional residency programs and opportunities).

Registration for all three days:

  • Registration is $345 until October 15, 2022
  • Late Registration (after October 15, 2022) is $450
  • Student registration is $150 until October 15, 2022
  • Late Student registration (after October 15, 2022) is $345 (Students must present a valid student ID when they pick up their registration materials.)

Bojana Panevska from TransArtists will also join the conference - on Friday, November 4 from 3:45 – 5:30 pm she will participate in a round-table discussion for residencies around the world (with a focus on the Netherlands, Germany and China). On Saturday, November 5 from 11:45 – 12:45 pm, Bojana will give a workshop on how to look and find a residency that best fits your needs. And lastly, on Sunday 6 November from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, she will join another discussion with colleagues from the USA, Taiwan, Mexico, Singapore and others, to talk about Connecting the World through the Power of Art.

Hope to see you in Boston!
