Culture and Development
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Culture and Development programme concentrates on sustainable capacity development of cultural organisations in developing countries, building up cultural networks and ‘South-South cooperation’.
CountriesDuring the period 2009-2012, the Netherlands is supporting culture and development programmes in 15 countries: Mali, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Guatemala, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bolivia, Mozambique, Kenya, India, Surinam, South Africa, the Palestinian Territories and Macedonia.
The Dutch embassies in these countries will carry out the Culture and Development programme locally. The Prince Claus Fund will support project and activities related to South-South cooperation.
