Bas Losekoot: Streets of São Paulo
Date(s)
Saturday 1 October - Wednesday 30 November 2011
On 23 May 2007 the world celebrated the start of the 'Urban Millennium'; on this day worldwide more people lived in cities than in rural areas. In this year Bas Losekoot photographed the streets of São Paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world. A city of enormous economical inequality, where millionaires live right next to slum dwellers. Losekoot's work focuses on how everyone, rich or poor, is searching for a better future.
Exhibited in the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam (Amsterdam Public Library).
