Europe Day 2015 - The Digital Revolution

On 18 September 2015, Creative Europe Desk NL | DutchCulture is organising its annual Europe Day.
Date(s)
Friday 18 September 2015 13:00

During this conference, we will investigate the impact the digital revolution has on the cultural and audiovisual sector, among others its impact on copyright. What opportunities and obstacles do film directors, screen writers, distributors, financiers, cultural institutions and consumers encounter? What difference can a Digital Single Market make?

Several stances and opinions in these matters will be discussed during this afternoon. The programme consists of a keynote, a general overview, two interesting case studies (respectively supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA and Culture sub-programme) and several panel discussions with a unique form of audience participation.

Speakers
Michael Gubbins (Sampo Media, UK), Lucie Guibault (Institute for Information Law/University of Amsterdam, NL), Alexia Krief (Walk this Way/Under The Milky Way, FR) and Maarten Brinkerink (Europeana Space/Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, NL).

Panel Discussion
The second part of the programme will be a mixture of an interactive poll with the audience and a panel discussion on stage. Theatre group PiPS:lab, will invite the audience to participate in interactive polls, using high-end technology. The results of these polls will be discussed with the experts on stage as well as participants from the audience.

The experts on stage, next to the abovementioned Michael Gubbins and Lucie Guibault, will be Robbert Baruch (Buma/Stemra), Paul Keller (Kennisland, Creative Commons NL), Robert Alberdingk Thijm (screenwriter, member of Society of Audiovisual Authors) and San Fu Maltha (producer - Fu Works, board member at Stichting de Thuiskopie and board member at AGICOA).

The day will be moderated by Natasja van den Berg.
