International visitors: National Archives of Australia (AUS)
The National Archives of Australia is the Australian counterpart and partner of the National Archives of the Netherlands. Our guests are Ms Caroline Webber (Director of Public Programs) and Ms Gina Grey (Assistant Director of Reference Services).
The objectives of the visit are strengthening relations with the National Archives, meeting potential new Dutch partner institutions and exchanging knowledge on digitization in order to make archival collections future-proof. Digitization is one of the focal points in the heritage policy of the Netherlands.
Our guests will meet with The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (Beeld en Geluid), Amsterdam City Archives and Huygens ING, among others.
On Thursday 24 May, from 15:00 to 17:00 hrs at DutchCulture in Amsterdam, the visitors will discuss the responsibility of archives to provide access to the rich history of countries, as well as in showing the historical connections with other countries. You are welcome to attend this event, the event is free and in English. To register and for more information, please click here.
