SPACE AND POSSIBILITIES “NEW APPROACHES TO SPATIAL COMMUNICATION” 

The event “Space and Possibilities" created to present new approaches in the field of spatial communication and design is being organized by Terminal Design on 3-4-5 April 2014 at Karaköy Greek School.

 During the event entitled "Space and Possibilities" which will be performed by Terminal Design with the contributions of Jotun Paints; for 3 days and under different themes each day, the conferences to be carried out by the world-renowned names in their fields of specialty will be held and the examples of spatial sampling will be given.

 While spatial tools and their transformations are being instantiated on the one hand, a dynamic Meeting Environment for opinion leaders, professionals and academicians will be created on the other hand.

Within the scope of the event organized under three different themes for three days, the areas to be focused on are as follows;

Day 1:  Spatial Perspectives in Retail,  Day 2:  Fiction in Museums and Presentation, Day 3:  Tools for Spatial Communication.

Whereas the space solutions generated with the interpretations by different designers can be monitored throughout the day, the conference program organized under the theme of each day will be hosting the speakers who are the pioneers in their fields of study, starting from 17:00 hours.

 During the event, thematic designs, competent designers and architects such as Atilla Kuzu, Levent Çırpıcı, Aziz  Sarıyer, Durmuş Dilekçi and Salih Küçüktuna, Nilüfer Kozikoğlu, Yalın Tan and Jeyan Ülkü, and, Yeşim Bakırküre produced for their designated areas, will be observed at the interior spaces of Karaköy Greek School.

 “www.mekanveolasiliklar.com”, the event website, will be published starting from March 3, 2014 and a detailed program can be followed here. Attendees will be able to watch activities free of charge. For the conference program, however, registration is required.

"Space and Possibilities"  Conference Speakers: 

 Prof. Uwe R. Brückner is the Founding Director of the International Scenographer’s Biennial as well as the creative director of ATELIER BRÜCKNER, which realized projects of BMW Museum in Munich and ethnological Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum in Cologne, which was deemed worthy of the European Museum Award 2012.

 Prof. Tobias Wallisser has taken part in a great deal of projects including the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany and he is one of the founding partners of LAVA (Laboratory for Visionary Architecture) Company.

 Marc Tamschick, is the CEO and Creative Lead of TAMSCHICK MEDIA+SPACE GmbH, which has received awards such as Germany ADC (Art Directors Club), New York ADC, ADC Global, WorldMediaFestival, Best Architects, Animago Award,  Prix Leonardo, Finalist Clip Attack, Videokunstpreis des Goethe Instituts and Intermedia Globe Gold, and which realizes projects on medial scenography.

Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat are the founding partners of Stamberg Aferiat design firm which has put the residential, hotel, commercial and cultural projects such as Frick Museum Pied-a-Terre, the Gemini GEL at Joni Moisant Weyl Gallery, Saguaro Hotels in Scottsdale (Arizona) and Palm Springs (California) into practice by synthesizing form, light and color elements into different experiences and which was launched in New York.

 John Ryan works as the Stores Editor for Retail Week Magazine in London and he is a retail expert in visual merchandising and store design. He is also the European editor of VMSD as well as an online editor of retail design publication ALUMiND Magazine.

Alastair Kean is the Group Development Director / Director at Dalziel and Pow, an UK based integrated design consultancy which provides a full range of design services from brand positioning, identity and retail design in order to make retail experience effective. 

 Charles Stone is the president of Fisher Marantz Stone Company, which has realized projects in architectural and theatrical areas in New York for over 30 years and which has also received awards by carrying out lighting projects ranging from concert halls to retail spaces.
