TAZE TASARIM - Fresh Design - ISTANBUL DESIGN WEEK
TAZE TASARIM - Fresh Design - ISTANBUL DESIGN WEEK
Curated by the Dutch designer Jacob de Baan
The TAZE TASARIM project aims to bring Turkish designers together with the international creative industry and design world.
The selected Turkey based designers use design in a fresh new way. They do not communicate the ego of the designer but focus on the end user. Their designs are as fresh as crispy “simit” bread (typical bread in a ring shape) that Turkish people buy everyday from the simit street vendor cars. These iconic cars are taken as a metaphor to communicate the fresh Turkish design approach and vision. In the exhibition the cars do not contain fresh simit bread but fresh Turkish design objects!
Designers: Alev Ebüzziya, Aykut Erol, Ayşe Ören, Beritan Fırat Arık, Bora Çakılkaya, Çiğdem Dayıoğlugil, Demet Bilici, Emel Şahin, Emrah Son, Fulya Damgacı, Gamze Yalçın, Meriç Kara, Münir Keleşoğlu.
SAFIR lamps will be also on display in the main exhibition area of Istanbul Design Week.
