Creative Industries Fund NL: Open Call Residency Suriname 2027

The Creative Industries Fund is one of the 6 national cultural funds. It provides grants that contribute to promoting high-quality standards, development, and professionalisation of the contemporary creative industry in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie offers one residency position in Suriname from 1 September to 1 December 2027. The residency takes place across three locations—Paramaribo, Moengo and Frederiksdorp—and is inspired by the Surinamese concept alakondre, referring to living together in cultural diversity and recognising the different traditions, languages and worldviews that shape Surinamese society. Residents are invited to conduct design-based research and develop work that responds to the layered cultural, historical and contemporary realities of Suriname, with attention to connection, diversity and collectivity. The programme includes exchange with local makers at each location and encourages knowledge-sharing, networking and potentially collaborative work. Accommodation, workspace and local facilitation are provided at the three locations.
