Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR): Small Project Fund

Grant for small projects aimed at cooperation in the German-Dutch-Belgian border area.

The Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) promotes everyday cross-border cooperation in the Meuse-Rhine region covering Dutch Limburg, Belgian Limburg, Province of Liège, Ostbelgien, Region Aachen. The EMR office acts as a central point of contact, initiates projects, gathers stakeholders, and supports citizens, companies, organisations, and municipalities in optimizing cross-border opportunities.

By offering project grants it aims to improve cross-border social cohesion through small-scale initiatives in the areas of culture, sports and civic engagement as well as nature, landscape and environment.

How much

Microprojects
A maximum of €2.000 can be requested for small, cross-border projects. Perfect for small associations that want to organise a football tournament, for example.

Small projects ‘light’ 
A maximum of €40.000 can be requested for somewhat larger cross-border projects, such as a citizens' festival or a theatre performance.

Small projects ‘maxi’ 
A maximum of €100.000 can be requested for are cross-border projects that are not yet large enough for Interreg funding. Projects that want to revitalise cross-border tourist routes or develop an app, for example, are eligible here.

Requirements

The project must

  • strengthen the sense of togetherness of the people in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine and/or relationship between the different regions.
  • be carried out by partners from at least one region of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.
