Funding for international presentation projects

The Department of Culture, Youth and Media is responsible for the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the Flemish policy on culture, youth and media and for monitoring policy items that interact with other departments. As a Flemish government organisation, the Department of Culture, Youth and Media is committed to a creative and open-minded Flanders where everybody is able to enjoy culture, each in their own way.

The Department offers subsidies for international presentation projects abroad.

Organisations
  • An artist or group of artists;
  • An arts organisation;
  • An arts worker who mediates the presentation of work by an artist/artists or arts organisation;
  • A foreign organisation that programs work by an artist or group of artists.

The artist or art organisation, whose work is presented, must be located in Flanders or the Brussels Capital Region.

Artistic expressions that fall under the remit of Literature Flanders or the Flemish Audiovisual Fund are not eligible for subsidies under the Arts Decree.

Organisations that receive more than 400,000 euros in operating grants cannot receive additional project funding.

Requirements

The presentation venue where you intend to showcase your art production should have international appeal and must include publicly accessible presentation opportunities for one or more artists or arts organisations.

If your projects starts between:

  • 1 February and 30 April, you must submit by 31 October of the previous year.
  • 1 May and 31 July, you must submit by 31 January of the same year.
  • 1 August and 31 October, you must submit by 30 April of the same year.
  • 1 November and 31 January, you must submit by 31 July of the same year.

Please note that in 2027 there will be no call for applications with 31 January 2027 as the deadline. If your international presentation project starts between 1 May 2027 and 31 July, you must submit your application by 31 October 2026.
