VandenEnde Foundation: Scholarship Dance
The VandenEnde Foundation (VDEF) is a private cultural fund established in 2001 by Joop and Janine van den Ende. The VDEF contributes to strengthening the cultural climate in the Netherlands, with the aim of ensuring that young people grow up in a society where interest in art and culture is self-evident. The VDEF provides scholarships to young artistic talents in the field of music, theater, dance and film & TV, to further their development. Since its establishment, over 750 young people have been able to study at prestigious institutions in the Netherlands ánd abroad with a scholarship from the VDEF.
Young artistic talents in the Netherlands in the field of dance who wish to further their development. If an applicant is a minor at the time of application, the application must be made on their behalf by a parent or legal guardian of the applicant.
- A professional, government-recognized pre-dance education for young talent in the Netherlands or abroad;
- Follow-up education at a renowned accredited dance institution abroad (at least at HBO or higher level), for which admission requirements apply regarding professionalism and quality;
- Short-term education, course, or workshop abroad.
The applicant's own contribution is at least 10% of the total costs.
- The applicant holds Dutch nationality (or the nationality of another EU or EEA member state or Switzerland) and has been registered in the Netherlands for at least three years prior to the application;
- The applicant is between 12 and 25 years old;
- The applicant must have completed a government-recognized (pre)education for young talent and/or a recognized professional education at least at HBO level;
- the education for which the application is made does not start within a period of two months after the deadline.
Limitations: - A dance scholarship is exclusively granted in the disciplines ofperforming dance and not for education in disciplines such as choreography, teaching, etc.;
- Internships during a theater education program are not eligible for a scholarship;
- A contribution for attending a short-term (summer) course, workshop, or masterclass is granted for a maximum of three consecutive years.
