The Vriendenloterij Fund is a private fund (part of DOEN Foundation) based in Amsterdam (Netherlands). The fund supports pioneers who are committed to creating a world where everyone participates and there is room for radical imagination.
Cultural organisations and artists that wish to organise an art or cultural project in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, that is deeply embedded in society, critically question the world, and involve communities and people from all walks of life. The project may be organised with international partners and/or invitees from within or outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as long as the organisation itself and the involved communities are based in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

- Artists involved in the project should engage people and communities in their artistic process (social practice) to collectively arrive at alternative perspectives;

- The initiative aligns with the transitions to a more sustainable, social and creative world that the VriendenLoterij Fund aims to accelerate;

- The initiative is not one-off but aims to structurally change practices and embed and share insights and results with other (VriendenLoterij Fund) partners and sectors;
- Artists and cultural institutions executing initiatives aim to connect with societal partners and society as a whole. They link parties that do not naturally collaborate and explore alternative, more equitable forms of collaboration.
