Klaartje Bult, Creative Europe - Culture

My drive is to bring people together. I really believe in the power of European culture because together we are even better able to create and explore innovation on an instrumental and artistic level. As programme manager of Creative Europe, I support the backbone of this programme, which is cultural cooperation. For more than 10 years I have been active in the creative sector and I have seen so many innovations that could only arise in a European environment.

I advise and assist with grant applications for the Dutch cultural and creative sector and keep the creatives updated about the European Commission’s policy. For the past two years, I was seconded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and involved in the role of culture in our foreign policy. What I have learned the most is that the more difficult diplomacy gets, the more culture you need.
