Cascoland is off to Rio
Cascoland Amsterdam, initiatied by Fiona de Bell and Roel Schoenmakers, is off to Brasil. From the 15th of November till the 15th of december they will investigate the needs and possibilities for future Cascoland-activities in Rio de Janeiro in cooperation with their Brasilian Partners, BARRACO #55, Studio X and IBISS Foundation.
Cascoland is a network of artists, architects, designers and performers sharing a fascination for interdisciplinary interventions in public space, promoting mobilization, participation and networking through artistic exchange and collaboration.
BARRACO #55 is a cultural incubator and hostel in Complexo do Alemão, one of the biggest favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
Studio-X is a place for new forms of creativity in the face of the most pressing problems. A place to invent, test and celebrate new ideas. Each Studio-X is organized around the traditional setting of the design studio found in architecture schools all over the world: a simple open loft-like space that fosters collaborative exploration, an empty room that welcomes new people and new ideas. Studio-X situates itself in cutting-edge places, such as Rio de Janeiro.
