Dutch art works unveiled at the ‘ Palais de Hollande’
Minister van Bijsterveldt, the Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science unveiled two artworks by Dutch artists at the Palais the Hollande: ‘White Rose’ by Titia Ex, and ‘Municipality of Silence’ by Sarah van Sonsbeeck.
White Rose by Titia Ex
‘White Rose’, a project by the light-artist Titia Ex, has the legend of White Rose as its major inspiration.The artwork consists of 2 objects. One object is visible from the street, through the bars of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The other object, a 'broken' light line, is attached to the Galata tower.
Sarah van Sonsbeeck’s Municipality of Silence
In collaboration with NON Stage (Istanbul) and as part of her on-going silence project, Dutch artist Sarah van Sonsbeeck has offered a bench at the most quiet point of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The bench will be there to anyone who would like to experience a silence retreat, away from all the hectic sounds of Beyoglu.
Visiting hours: Both artworks at the Palais the Hollande can be visited on Friday between 13.30 and 14.30 by appointment. An appointment can be made by sending an e-mail to IST-PCZ@minbuza.nl
