Dutch Creative Industry Mission to Istanbul
Following the successful trade mission led by Minister Verhagen in May 2012, Dutch Design Fashion Architecture (DutchDFA) has taken the initiative to organise a dedicated mission for the creative industries to Istanbul from 14-18 October. The mission aims at 20-25 creative companies that are eager to further develop their business activities in Turkey, with an emphasis on design, fashion and architecture.
This follow-up mission coincides with the visits of the Mayors of Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Istanbul that same week, and will be part of a larger multi-sector trade delegation organised by the Netherlands-Turkish Business Association (Netuba) in cooperation with DutchDFA and its partners (BNA, BNO, Premsela, NAI and MODINT). The Dutch Design Desk Istanbul will provide local support and services for individual companies.
The Dutch creative industries mission to Istanbul enables you to connect with Turkish companies and authorities, explore new business opportunities and raise your commercial profile in Turkey. The combined presence of the mayors of Amsterdam and Rotterdam ensures the attention of, as well as access to, relevant local partners and authorities, for instance at the Creative Business events on board the Clipper Amsterdam.
Urban Transformation
DutchDFA aims to capture and present the creative industries mission and related creative events in this week under the joint umbrella theme of ‘Urban Transformation’, thereby generating more impact. This theme focuses on today’s urban and social challenges in the metropolitan area of Istanbul and enables Dutch architects and designers to present their unique capabilities and solutions to relevant parties in Istanbul.
Dutch architects, designers and fashion designers are exceptionally qualified to address local challenges such as: urban planning, building with water, affordable housing, re-use of (historical) buildings, sustainable product design, process design, visual communication, branding and packaging, new fashion concepts and high-quality street wear.
