Netherlands-Turkey after 2012. Where can you go?

Now that the dust has settled on the celebration of 400 Years of Diplomatic Relations, it is time to see how the many contacts and initiatives from 2012 can be transformed into new projects and lasting relationships. And so, for example, the very promising economic activities of 2012 (trade missions, CEO round tables and business seminars) will be followed up in 2013 with similar, albeit less intensive, events by the ministries involved (particularly Economic Affairs) and the Consulate General in Istanbul and the Embassy in Ankara.

But what about the cultural and societal sectors? SICA Desk and Turkey Institute are working together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to map out the continuation. What collaborative associations are going to lead to new projects in 2013, what organisations are drawing up plans to again realise successful exhibitions, theatre performances, exchanges, etc, in 2013 and thereafter?

You can help us by telling us whether there are any such plans within your organisation. SICA Desk and the Turkey Institute will then be able to help you to find organisations in both countries that are developing projects in a similar manner, so that joining forces is possible.

SICA Desk will also keep an agenda and provide current information on the website www.culturalexchange-tr.nl. Furthermore, SICA Desk will continue to regularly consult with the most important stakeholders on the programme board.
