Sector institute and festivals
The annual Holland Festival in June features a large number of international productions, as does the International Choice of the Rotterdam Schouwburg theatre each year in September. TF, short for Theaterfestival (Theatre Festival), takes place in Amsterdam in September, focusing on drama from the established theatres and the theatre-in-the-round circuit, but also including a growing repertoire of fringe performances. The summer festivals in the Netherlands, with their wide variety of theatre on location, have become famous, particularly Festival aan de Werf in Utrecht in May, Oerol on Terschelling in May and Boulevard in Den Bosch in August.
The Netherlands Theatre Institute (TIN) is the knowledge and information centre of Dutch theatre.
Internationalisation is an important task at TIN, as is evident by its involvement in a number of projects in NL-RUHR for European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010, their joint venture with South Africa Interactions SA-NL, the New Island Festival in New York, and the Middle-East project Arabica Robusta.
