The guitar is perhaps the pre-eminent Brazilian folk instrument. There is no bossa nova without the sultry and sighing rhythm of the nylon strings. Even as a solo instrument is the violão, as is called the classic six-or seven-string guitar in Brazil,  widespread. After celebrities like Baden Powell and Antonio Carlos Jobim a new generation emerged with Yamandu Costa, Alessandro Penezzi and the Duo Siqueira Lima.  Together with 'string veteran' Armandinho they bring the Brazilian spirit to life.
