CINE BRASIL: FORDLANDIA
Documentary about uninhabited town in the brazilian rainforest as part of the Brasil Festival.
In 1928, a city started to be erected in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon Forest. Boa Vista, as it was first called, would change its name into Fordlandia, incorporating the brand of the empire to which it belonged. The American industry man Henry Ford was one of the greatest rubber consumers in the world. It was when he decided to establish, in the open Amazon, the project of growing 1.5 million rubber-trees, for latex extraction Fordland will reveal this city’s formation.
